Steps in a Family Law case.
The following describes a basic overview of how most family law
court cases move through the court system. Family cases can last a
few months or several years, depending on the complexity of the
case. The time frame especially depends on the ability of the
parties to maneuver through the court system and cooperate in
exchanging discovery and moving the case forward. If a case is
appealed, it could take a few more years.
